Pheromone Cologne for Men:  Does the Stuff Really Work?

Have you wondered what the hype is about concerning pheromone cologne for men? Have have you wondered whether or not this pheromone cologne for men stuff even works, or not? If so, then you have stumbled upon the right site, that will strive to answer these questions for you in a rather blunt and brutally honest manner…Without the hype.

December of 2007, I began my research into the wonderful world of human attractant pheromones, with my initial look being specifically on pheromone cologne for men of course.  I was new to the whole realm of human pheromones for attraction, so like you, I wanted the answer to one seemingly simple question, “Does the stuff really work?”

After researching and reading quite a few extremely un-interesting clinical trials regarding the whole pheromone subject matter, I still found myself still in a haze so far as being able to know if, and how pheromone cologne for men actually worked to attract the opposite sex! 

Much of the available information at this time was inconclusive at best! As I have summarized before, the bottom-line concerning clinical research into pheromones can really be broken down into only two primary school of thought concerning this subject matter, that’s it, two! 

The 1st School of Thought:  

“They really don’t know the answer? Insufficient clinical studies specific to human behavioral response are currently available.”

The 2nd School of Thought:

“Pheromones do in fact affect certain people, but it is not conclusively known yet as to what extent, nor why some people respond to pheromones and other seemingly do not.”

That’s pretty much the bottom-line folks! So far as the scientific community is concerned at this moment in time at least.  It’s time to face facts, human beings are very complex animals, but animals nonetheless. It will simply take time before the scientific community is able to conclusively transform current “scientific theory,” into that coveted category of “scientific proof!” They are not really there yet, if anyone tells you differently, chances are very good, they are lying to you!

However, the current level of scientific knowledge being what it is, I was not going to be satisfied with rather unhelpful and somewhat contradictory answers I found during the course of my research!

Quite simply, I decided to take the process one step further back in December of 2007. I opted to conduct my own empirical review various fragrances, to determine for myself if some, any, or none of these pheromone cologne for men actually did anything, anything at all.

The empirical method of evaluation is in itself a tried and true scientific methodology, blunt, brutal, and to the point. Simply put, the empirical testing method is;

“depending upon experience or observation alone, without using scientific method or theory, esp. as in medicine.”

So what did I do?  In very simplistic terms, I bought pheromone cologne for men, I put the stuff on me, and then I interacted with others in the real world while carefully observing and documenting any responses or the lack of responses by folks around me. No rocket science involved, that’s essentially it, buy it, use it, observe to see if it does anything! 

The results of my empirical evaluation shall be the posts of this blog! In the interest of full disclosure, I will say this, I was able to observe during my testing that some of the pheromone cologne for men did in fact work, but quite frankly many, many more simply did not work at all! 

Clearly, I will begin first posting about those that appeared to actually do something, and then move to the losers later. As of the time of this writing, I have currently bought, field tested, and reviewed nearly 70 fragrances within the pheromone cologne for men genre.

KZI’s powerhouse known as Alpha-7 Scented for Men was a very easy pick for my number two spot among pheromone cologne for men. Alpha-7 Scented has long been a little known pheromone cologne, with very little marketing hype surrounding it, nor other advertising fan fair, but once I conducted my field tests on this cologne it was obvious that it was a ruthlessly effective as well as pleasant smelling pheromone cologne for men.

Alpha-7 Scented is essentially a hybrid pheromone cologne, which seems to enhance a wearers over all levels of “sexual attraction,” and “respect.” Appropriately, Alpha-7 Scented has been dubbed by many pheromone enthusiasts as a “higher value,” and “sexual attraction” orientated pheromone cologne for men.

Alpha-7 Scented is powered primarily by two specific pheromone compounds, among certain other proprietary blends of course, but primarily the hard work is done by it’s whopping dose of 6mg of Androstenone and  1mg of Androsterone, when combined this mixture boasts 40% more in overall pheromone count then the previous big dog of Androstenone pheromone cologne for men, Primal Instinct.

Let me say this concerning the specific blend of pheromone compounds used by KZI, they simply got the mixture “right” with Alpha-7 Scented! The end result is a pheromone cologne for men versatile enough to be worn for nearly all occasions, work, social, and romantic, and work very well.

The ability to induce feelings from others, causing them to perceive the wearer as “more valuable,” or of “higher status” is invaluable, all coupled with a strong underlining enhancement of “sexual attraction” has proven itself to be a powerful combination.

To rehash, the affects induced by Alpha-7 Scented are still primarily generated by Androstenone and Androsterone, and for obvious reasons.

“Androstenone is a human pheromone which the pheromone community refers to basically as a sexually based pheromone.  Androstenone signals to those exposed, among other things, dominance, aggression, competition, and is strongly known to be associated with, and to induce feelings of strong sexual attraction.”

Therefore, the 6 Mg’s of Androstenone contained in Alpha-7 Scented, tends to be responsible for inducing strong feelings of “sexual attraction,” put simply, Men and Women alike will perceive the wearer as much more of an Alpha Male type of individual, with all which that implies.

Men tend find the wearer more desirable, and wish to befriend or bond with certain Alpha Male types, and often differ to such individuals and give them much higher levels of respect, while women tend to view such Men as primarily desirable for relationship selection. Simplistically put of course, but this is the gist of what the Androstenone tends to induce from others around the wearer.

On the flip side one must be reminded as to what the second pheromone compound known as Androsterone does, and tends to induce from folks around the wearer;

“Androsterone is a human pheromone that seems to have the effect of creating an aura of masculinity about the wearer, and signalling an impression of protection, security, and reliability. In other words,  a women exposed to a male wearing Androsterone would most likely view him as an Alpha Male protector type of man who would traditionally take care of her.”

I think the above definition should be enough for most folks to get the picture. Quite simply, Alpha-7 Scented’s smooth blend of Androstenone and Androsterone are very well balanced to create a near perfect storm of “sexual attraction” and “higher value.” The wearer can both expect higher levels of attention and respect from other males, as well as the same but coupled with feelings of “sexual attraction” from females, enough said.

In addition to the brutal effectiveness of Alpha-7 Scented, it also earned the number two ranking for it’s near inability to generate any sort of over dose reactions! For those who are not aware, or have been lucky enough to have never experienced an Androstenone over dose, the effects of wearing too much Androstenone are the following;

Headaches

Bad smelling applications

Aggression from other members of the same sex

An aggressive mood in the wearer

Members of the opposite sex to be overly intimidated, leading to no or even negative reactions.

Many a pheromone cologne for men out there has shown itself capable of generating incidents of over dose, primarily when an inexperienced pheromone user has applied to much of it! The beauty of Alpha-7 Scented’s unique blend is simple, it’s darn “tough” to actually over dose on this stuff! My guess is it would take a lot of applications of Alpha-7 to run into the above negative reactions, which is a very good thing, and seals the deal for me concerning Alpha-7 Scented’s over all versatility and effectiveness, making it a “must have pheromone cologne for men” for the experienced and inexperience pheromone cologne user alike.

Make no mistake about this, while the Scent of Eros for Men excels at being a “social lubricator” orientated pheromone cologne, Alpha-7 Scented excels at being a brutally effective “higher value,” and “strong sexual attraction” orientated pheromone cologne for men. This is precisely why the practice of combining the effects of multiple pheromone colognes is so powerful, and my personal daily strategy as well.

The Scent of Eros for Men, applied to the forearms, along with Alpha-7 Scented applied to the neck area, in my experience provides some rather brutally effective and strong results! At times generating very blatant and amusing reactions from those exposed! The ability to create an aura, signalling friendliness, relaxation, calmness, trust, with Alpha-7 Scented’s higher value and strong sexual attraction element thrown in for good measure is a truly powerful advantage if used appropriately.

Liquid Trust is a very powerful, albeit temperamental spray produced by Vero Labs. Although Liquid Trust is not technically a pheromone cologne for men, nor a pheromone perfume, the sheer utility and effectiveness of this very closely related spray compels me to list it within my ranking of the top 3 most potent and effective pheromone products.

Yes, Liquid Trust is not actually a pheromone cologne at all, to be accurate Liquid Trust is a hormone based spray containing the human hormone compound known as Oxytocin! Vero Labs decided to try to utilize the human hormone Oxytocin, as opposed to employing various human pheromone compounds, to produce a uniquely similar result. Well, Vero Labs is definitely on to something in their experimentation with Oxytocin!

To understand what Liquid Trust is, and what powers this unique spray, one must understand what it’s primary compound, Oxytocin is, and does…

“Oxytocin is a human hormone that scientists have been able to determine plays a role in increasing people’s levels of trust in others, formation of social bonds and friendships, as well as having a role in treating depression, shyness, and other social disorders and phobias. “

The Oxytocin contained in Liquid Trust is has no real discernible odor, other than a faint alcohol smell which quickly fades soon after an application, becoming completely undetectable within a few short minutes. The power behind the effects of Liquid Trust however, primarily relies on Oxytocin’s ability to induce folks to simply become “more trusting,” once inhaled of course, and one must note that this will affect the wearer as well as others in close proximity.

Although Vero Labs has made some pretty bold claims surrounding the effectiveness of Liquid Trust, I was surprised to initially learn that the effects of Oxytocin are actually very well documented by the scientific community, it’s effects are much better understood to date than those produced by a number of true pheromone compounds.  I have published a number of resources and sources describing Oxytocin’s recent research results, this is published under, Liquid Trust.

Anyhow, regardless of the current volume of research available regarding Oxytocin, I still opted to conduct my normal field testing regimen on Liquid Trust.  After conducting 10 initial field tests, I can say that Liquid Trust’s results and performance greatly exceeded my expectations! As such, this hormone based spray is assumed a permanent role in my own personal stable, as one of the three must have pheromone cologne men.

The mighty triumvirate of the powerful three, The Scent of Eros for Men, plus Alpha 7 Scented for Men, washed down with Liquid Trust so to speak, provides simply incredible results! More on this tactic later.

However, it is important for me to note, that although Liquid Trust is marketed as if it is some type of attractant pheromone, I personally saw no compelling results on this front, and therefore would not recommend it’s use for the sole purpose of attracting the opposite sex, or generating feelings of pure “sexual attraction” per se.

What Liquid Trust is good for is as the name kind of implies, inducing folks to trust the wearer much more, and to more or less take what the wearer says at face value! On this front, when used properly, the results are very good. However, as I previously mentioned, if one wishes to spice up the mix, and compound the effectiveness of Liquid Trust, the addition of a strong “social lubricator” pheromone cologne for men, as well as a strong “sexual attractant,” proved to amplify the over all effects of all the pheromone colognes and generated what I frankly can only term as rather unbelievably effective and brutal results. It’s one of those cases in much one really must see to believe, or to truly understand the nature of the reactions such a combination is capable of inducing from others.

Special Observations:

There are a few important points about Liquid Trust that must be mentioned, and understood by a prospective wearer of this pheromone cologne for men like product.

Liquid Trust has a very short duration folks, I’m sorry to say the effects simply do not last that long, and unfortunately it is also necessary to apply very generous amounts of the stuff to induce the desired results. Typically, I found that for Liquid Trust to influence anyone around me require at a minimum, 4 to a maximum of 6 full and generous sprays to my person! Once 4-6 sprays are applied, Liquid Trust will only seem to affect others for roughly 1-2 hours from the time of initial application.

Liquid Trust may be brutally effective, but do to the fact that so much must be applied to be effective for such a short duration, it is simply not the best choice for a daily wear pheromone cologne, it’s not practical to attempt to use it this way. However, that being said, it become clear to me that Liquid Trust is best used a “special purpose wearer” cologne.

Think outside the box…Unless you wish to go through a bottle of this stuff every 3-4 days, which personally I can not afford to do, Liquid Trust is best used for special occasions, such as a job interview, an important meeting with a boss, a meeting to discuss a raise with a boss, an important sales call, or perhaps a first date! In effect, use Liquid Trust for special occasions that really count, and will generate you a return on your investment, most of these scenarios can be concluded within the 1-2 hour window, hopefully? Not to mention, Liquid Trust seems to work best indoors, or in a more confined area, like an office for instance! It’s effectiveness outdoors is dramatically less.

Also, do to the nature of the Oxytocin contained in Liquid Trust, this product needs to be kept refrigerated! Many folks neglect to do this and quickly find that the bottle’s potency fades after the first use. Oxytocin is a rather unstable hormone when applied in a spray form, and once exposed to air it will lose it’s potency rather quickly, which is why it’s necessary to refrigerate Liquid Trust to preserve it’s life expectancy when not in use.

As for my personal but occasional use of the Scent of Eros for Men, Alpha 7 Scented, and Liquid Trust together, in part the power of this combination, weighed heavily into deciding which products would make my Top 3 ranking! The effects of this combo truly have to be experienced, as words can’t really do it justice, generating friendliness, chattiness, relaxation, higher perceived value, strong sexual attraction, and folks actually just really trust you a lot more…You do the math!

NPA for Men although not very versatile proved itself to be a true powerhouse among pheromone cologne for men, so brutally effective at inducing a pure “sexual attraction,” and “sexual frustration” vibe from others that it had to be placed in our number 4 position among the top 10 most effective pheromone cologne for men.

It is important to note that NPA for Men is not technically itself a pheromone cologne, but rather is was designed to be a pheromone cologne additive, useful for mixing with other pheromone colognes, to increase their potency, or to be mixed with regular colognes thus converting them into a mildly strong Androstenone based pheromone colognes.

However, before we take a closer look at NPA for Men, it is important to understand that this is a very powerful Androstenone based pheromone additive, is capable of inducing good reactions from others as well as bad reactions depending upon the dosage levels applied. NPA for Men is fully powered by the pheromone compound Androstenone!

“Androstenone is a human pheromone which the pheromone community refers to basically as a sexually based pheromone.  Androstenone signals to those exposed, among other things, dominance, aggression, competition, and is strongly known to be associated with, and to induce feelings of strong sexual attraction.”

That’s correct, when you either mix NPA for Men into a regular cologne, or as I personally do, simply use a small dab or two applied directly to the neck, you are pretty much applying almost “pure” Androstenone. Although Androstenone can work wonders in inducing attraction from the opposite sex, if applied to heavily the following over dose symptoms are very real, as other people can only “make sense” of the Androstenone they unconsciously detect within a certain range. Wearing too much Androstenone can cause over dose reactions which include the following;

Headaches

Bad smelling applications

Aggression from other members of the same sex

An aggressive mood in the wearer

Members of the opposite sex to be overly intimidated, leading to no or even negative reactions.

In an effort to avoid the above typical traits of an Androstenone over dose, one must be very careful as to how much NPA for Men is applied, or later with more experience, mixed into other colognes. Typically, when using NPA for Men, or any other heavy Androstenone based pheromone cologne for men, it is most prudent to start applying low level doses, observing the reactions of others, and then working ones way up in dosage level until ones tolerance, or comfort level is found. You will simply “know” when you have found the “sweet spot” by the blatant responses you will see from others…You really won’t be able to miss it.

It has been asked if the use of Androstenone can be unpredictable in various pheromone colognes, then why is this pheromone compound used at all? The answer is very simple, the potential positive benefits far outweigh the potential negative reactions one may receive. In other words, when the correct dosage is determined and applied, the stuff is just “brutally effective” at increasing levels of both “sexual attraction,” and raising levels of “sexual frustration” among females so exposed. Make no mistake, NPA for Men is a pure “sexual attractant!”

NPA for Men as no other hidden agenda from what I can tell, it will not make the wearer seem like a nice guy, nor make him appear more attractive, nor will it induce folks to be warm, cozy and chatty with you either! NPA will “ONLY” dramatically increase the wearers target audiences levels of pure “sexual attraction” and “sexual frustration,” that’s pretty much it, in short, with the correct dosage levels utilized exposed females will increasingly become very “hot and bothered” around you, period, no other real benefits. It’s up to the wearer to take it from there, for better or worse.

When to use NPA for Men? Although NPA for Men does also affect other males, because of the Androstenone, it best not to be worn in the work place, you have been warned. Although with the proper dose applied other males do tend to view the wearer as much more of a “Man’s Man” or in short like an Alpha Male, this can lead to unpredictable results if your male boss is suddenly overly intimidated by you and wants you out of there because he now sees you as some sort of threat to him! Yes, speaking from experience on this one folks!

NPA is best use in “the” proper setting, such as at a night club, a bar, dance club, or on a “2nd” date with a someone whom you’re already familiar with and want to escalate things to the next level so to speak, in these settings NPA is very effective! Use extreme caution if worn at the workplace however, how other males may react can be…unpredictable.

A word about mixes briefly. Personally, other than while testing NPA of course, I never wear NPA by itself. Why because by itself it can be percieved by females that the wearer is extremely “sexually charged” and “sexually focused,” or rather on the prowl. This is not a problem so long as you’re with someone who is already on the same page as you, such as a 2nd date, but if not it’s a little too much! NPA needs to be buffered a tad bit.

When I wear NPA for Men, it is always in conjunction with either the Scent of Eros for Men, or Alpha 7 Scented, or both for best most intense results. Why do I use this mix? Because it is easier in many cases to unconsciously project or rather induce feelings, of friendliness, calmness, chattiness, security, reliability, higher value, relaxation and of course respect, “in addition to” inducing feelings of pure “sexual attraction/frustration” from women. This is the perceived difference between being charming, interesting, and attractive versus being perceived as a man in heat by a women you may not know too well. As I said, NPA is best used when buffered with some more social pheromones to sort of temper it’s strong “sexual attraction” elements.

Alpha A314 which is also known as Alpha A314 for Men, quite easily found its way to our number 5 spot among the top 10 quality and most effective pheromone cologne for men. Alpha A314 is a very strong Androstenone based pheromone oil which also contains 8 other proprietary blends within its mixture, but unlike pheromone colognes such as NPA for Men for example, Alpha A314 comes with a pleasant smelling “musk” fragrance, therefore it can be worn with or without using a cover scent.

Alpha A314 is a rather odd bird to say the least, it tends to perform almost as if it’s a cross between Alpha 7 Scented and NPA for Men, not as hard or blunt as NPA but not quite as smooth as Alpha 7. Alpha A314 for Men has been described by many experienced pheromone enthusiasts as being a “smooth operator!” This pheromone cologne seems to excel at creating an aura about the wearer of  “higher value, respect, trust, class, and sexiness,” our what many enthusiasts have dubbed to be the “the James Bond effect.”

The most extreme difference in performance is actually between Alpha A314 and NPA for Men, although subtle, nonetheless very real. While NPA for Men is known to be a very potent “sexual attractant,” Alpha A314 seems to illicit a slightly different response from others, projecting more of a “sexy” type of vibe around the wearer. The difference between the two has been described as “the difference between being sleazy, and sexy!” Hopefully, all can appreciate the subtle difference between those two states of being.

Typically, when wearing an appropriate dosage of Alpha A314, both males and females exposed to the wearer will tend to unconsciously perceive him with more admiration, respect, higher status, and will hold the wearer in over all higher esteem. While other males will tend to view the wearer as “one of the boys,” or more like a dominant Alpha Male, women will tend to perceive the wearer as much more “sexually appealing, classy, and desirable.” Thus, the phrase has been coined, “the James Bond effect.”

It is important for me to note at this point, that although Alpha A314 has been dubbed to be a smooth operator, one still must contend with some the buffered side affects of any Androstenone heavy pheromone cologne. Women who are around the wearer may initially experience a small “intimidation factor.” This can be both good as well as bad, not too bad, but a minor handicap that could need to be over come.

In essence, how Alpha A314 tends to work, many women will tend to perceive the wearer as simply being “out of their league!” In which case such women may display very little or no outward signs of attraction towards the male wearer, simply because they perceive the wearer to be of such “higher value,” that they feel they have no chance anyhow! Conversely, women who the male wearer of Alpha A314 might have considered out of his league, will tend to view the wearer as now being “in their league” so to speak. Therefore, those women who are perceiving themselves to be “unworthy” will not be blatantly obvious or flirtatious in their attempt, if any, to get the wearers attention.

The good news is, as with many other Androstenone based pheromone colognes, this Androstenone induced “intimidation factor” can very easily be over come by the male wearer. Simply, walk over to the women in question, while surrounded by this so called “James Bond effect,” and simply initiating conversation oneself, no corny lines necessary, simply find an excuse to communicate, in good taste of course.

From my experience with Alpha A314, the man that approaches a women wearing this pheromone cologne, even those women out of their league, would either be happy to say yes to a date, or at the very worst would have to think long and hard before turning the man down! Do to the effects of Alpha A314, even those women who decline the wearer seem like they really wanted to say yes! Think of it this way, how would the average male react if a women clearly out of their league walked over to initiate conversation? Well, you got it! With Alpha A314 the women exposed is perceiving the male wearer the same way, that’s a very big advantage, no?

Now, with all that being said about this smooth pheromone cologne for men, there is one exception to the above rule concerning the “intimidation factor” scenario!  If the wearer is already interacting with a women who has no real “intimidation factor” to over come, for example a women who is already a friend, or out on a first date with the wearer for instance, in these cases there is little to no intimidation factor, and therefore the “sexual attraction” vibe is much more pronounced, or at least blatantly obvious and expressed right from get go!

Overall I’ve found Alpha A314 for Men to be a very potent, high quality, and effective pheromone cologne for men. After conducting approximately 23 field tests on this one, I dare say it’s very close to being a must have pheromone cologne. It’s appropriate for social settings, romantic settings, and even the work place in smaller doses for the added benefit of increased “respect and status,” as perceived by others.

However, after I concluded my testing of Alpha A314 for Men, my primary use for it has been to utilize it as a secondary “sexual attractant” pheromone cologne to be used in conjunction with either Alpha 7 Scented or NPA for Men. Why? Well, If you can picture the “James Bond effect” combined with a very strong dose of raw sexual attraction, then you will understand the method behind the madness!
